Dragon’s Tails

by Leon Lester

Acrylic and Pastel on paper

81.0cm (H) x 102.0cm (W)

Framed $3500

This painting takes its inspiration from an important astrological reference. In astrology, the South Moon’s Node or what is also called the Dragon’s  Tail is not a planet in the strict astronomical sense, but rather sensitive points on the ecliptic, where the pathway of the Moon crosses the course of the Sun. The Dragon’s Tail is in a sense our “comfort zone”, it represents the area in life where we have developed the most awareness around during our previous lives.  It exactly opposes the Dragon’s Head in an astrology chart which indicates where our growth patterns will occur and and where we feel the most vulnerable and inexperienced.
